Allison Kraft |
Horses have been a part of Allison’s life for over 20 years. She fell in love with them immediately. Her first lesson was Hunter/ Jumper at the age of 5, since then she has ridden and trained Reining, Cutting, Natural Horsemanship and Dressage. After graduating from Montana State University – Bozeman with a B.S. in Equine Science, she apprenticed for world-renowned Eponaquest Instructor Shelley Rosenberg and has become an Eponaquest approved EFL Riding Instructor. While living in Montana Allison put all her focus into horses. She bought her first horse, truck and trailer at 17 years old because she knew that this was her life path. In school she learned the science of horses, everything from grazing ecology, nutrition, and pasture management to digestion and biomechanics. Outside of school she put what she learned to action, while simultaneously learning how to train and handle horses from local horse trainers. She got her first taste of Equine Facilitated Learning in 2007 while working for Joe Esparza, owner of Leadership Outfitters. Since then, she has been captivated with EFL and how it helps people of all ages and in all phases of life. After graduating in 2011, Allison moved to Sonoita, AZ to become Shelley Rosenberg’s apprentice. Shelley is a world-renowned horse trainer, Grand Prix Dressage rider and senior faculty member of Eponaquest. Allison worked very closely with Shelley and during that time she was sole charge of Shelley’s beloved animals. Shelley expected the horses to be trained and taken care with love, high attention to detail and preventative medical techniques. Allison’s commitment and skill with horses, allowed Shelley the freedom to expand Eponaquest to Austrailia, Costa Rica, New Zealand and Switzerland. While working for Shelley, Allison began the 6 month long Eponaquest apprenticeship. Her many years of experience with horses and guests make us very excited for the Equine Experiences offered at Old Stone Farm. Intuition, There for the Taking Have you ever been in a situation where your stomach is in knots, or you can’t seem to focus because your body is being a distraction? Have you listened to those feelings, or ignored them? Most people ignore these feelings, their intuition, because the things we are intuitive about don’t make sense, or aren’t logical. How are we supposed to know something is a bad idea before it even happens? Our body is telling us something isn’t right, or something is right, but our mind gets in the way and tells us to ignore those feelings. This introductory workshop focuses on helping you become aware of and use your intuition to the fullest. With the help of our wise equine partners we will do this by using emotion as information, accessing and understanding body sensation, recognizing and moving beyond conditioned behaviors, establishing and maintaining good boundaries and personal space, and accessing a more authentic, creative presence.
